GENCO Shared Equipment Agreement
Member Acknowledgment and Terms of Use. By checking the "I Agree" box and submitting this reservation, I, the undersigned member of the Garage Enologists of Northern California (GENCO), agree to the following terms regarding the use of club owned equipment.
1. Stewardship and responsibility
As-is acknowledgment: I have inspected the equipment upon pickup. I accept the equipment in its current condition and acknowledge it is in good working order unless otherwise noted to the President immediately upon receipt. Liability: I assume all risk of loss or damage to the equipment and any personal injury that may occur during its transport or operation.
2. Sanitation and cleaning
Pre-use rinse: rinse and sanitize the equipment before use with StarSan or an equivalent food grade sanitizer. Immediate post-use clean: thoroughly scrub and remove all grape residue, tartrates, and organic matter immediately after use. Do not allow grape skins or juice to dry on the equipment. The StarSan promise: I will perform a final disinfection with StarSan and ensure the equipment is completely dry before returning it to storage to prevent mold or corrosion.
3. Damage and replacement
Reporting: I will immediately report any mechanical failures or accidental damage to the Club President. Repair or replacement cost: if the equipment is damaged due to negligence, improper use, or failure to follow operating instructions, I agree to cover the full cost of professional repair or the current market replacement value of the item.
4. Logistics and timeliness
Firm return dates: I understand that other members are scheduled behind me. I will return the equipment by the return date listed in my reservation. Late fees: I acknowledge that late returns may result in a fine of $25 per day or temporary suspension of equipment privileges. Transportation: I am responsible for providing a vehicle capable of safely transporting the gear.
5. Proper usage
No commercial use: this equipment is for the personal, home winemaking use of GENCO members only. No loaning: I will not loan this equipment to any non-member or third party.
